 "Fleur de Cane" Utilizing sugar cane images Martin has produced over three decades, the "Fleur de Cane" poster contains a fleur-de-lis accented with cane leaves and stalks. Selected ink drawings compliment and complete the themed design. The rich history of sugar cane in the state is chronicled with facts around the border, each separated by an image of cane stalks. Sugar cane was introduced to Louisiana in 1751 and became an industry beginning in 1795. For this reason, the poster is offered in two editions, the smaller 1751 Edition (6"x8" on 8"x10" paper. Only 503 posters are available) and the larger 1795 Edition (8"x10.5" on 10"x13" paper. Only 305 posters are available). Each poster is signed and numbered in pencil, includes a certificate of authenticity and history card. Posters are also available with matting. |
